Greater Glory Ahead (Haggai 2:9)
Point 1 – The Presence of God Brings Greater Glory
- “Be strong…for I am with you, says the LORD” (Haggai 2:4).
- The true measure of glory is not gold or silver, but God’s presence.
- Application: Our present house (church, ministry, and lives) may not look like the “former glory” we imagine — but God’s presence guarantees a greater future.
Cross-References: Exodus 33:14; Matthew 28:20; John 14:16-17
Point 2 – God Will Shake Things to Reveal Greater Glory
- “I will shake the heavens and the earth… and the desire of all nations shall come” (Haggai 2:6-7).
- Shaking is God’s way of removing what is temporary so that what is eternal remains.
- Application: The shaking we endure (trials, transitions, growth pains) is God’s preparation for greater glory.
Cross-References: Hebrews 12:26-28; Psalm 62:6; 2 Corinthians 4:17
Point 3 – God Provides for the Work of Greater Glory
- “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD” (Haggai 2:8).
- The rebuilding work was not dependent on their resources, but God’s.
- Application: The resources for your future ministry, church growth, and vision will come from God’s provision, not human limitation.
Cross-References: Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Psalm 24:1
Point 4 – The Promise of Peace Is the Proof of Greater Glory
- “…in this place will I give peace” (Haggai 2:9).
- Greater glory is not just about outward magnificence — it’s about God’s peace reigning in the house and in the hearts of His people.
- Application: The evidence of the greater glory in LIFFE Church is not just numbers or buildings, but the peace, unity, and wholeness God establishes.
Cross-References: Isaiah 9:6; John 14:27; Colossians 3:15
Closing Reflection
Haggai teaches us that God is not finished — the best is yet to come. The former glory (what was) cannot compare to the latter glory (what shall be). Your present house may look small, but God promises that the greater glory ahead will come through His presence, His shaking, His provision, and His peace.
