I will exult and rejoice in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have taken heed of my adversities.

Psalm 31:7

My Lord, sometimes I feel all alone, as if no one really knows what I’m going through, or no one cares. Yes, there are people in my life, and some of them treat me nicely, but there are times when even their kindness isn’t enough. I feel isolated, abandoned, up against overwhelming obstacles with little or no support. But a psalm like this one gets me grounded again. You have seen my affliction. You understand my adversity. In your divine knowledge, you know exactly what’s going on, and you promise me your steadfast love. Even before anything changes, it’s comfortable to know that you know. It’s a blessing to sense your presence beside me. I ask for your strength now to overcome any obstacle.
